Frequently Asked Questions

Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions — and that’s completely normal. Whether you’re wondering how sessions work, what to expect on your first visit, or how insurance fits in, I’m here to offer clarity and reassurance. If your question isn’t listed here, don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m always happy to help.

01. Do you accept insurance?

Yes. I currently accept United Healthcare, Aetna, and Cigna. If you’re unsure about your coverage, I’m happy to help you navigate that process.

02. What if you don’t take my insurance?

If your insurance isn’t accepted, you’re welcome to pay privately. My out-of-pocket rate is $120 per session. I can also provide a superbill if you’d like to request reimbursement through your insurance provider.

03. How long is each session?

Sessions last approximately 53 minutes, which is considered a standard “therapeutic hour.” This allows time afterward for me to document your session and prepare for our next steps. Appointments are typically scheduled on the hour.

04. How often will I have appointments?

That depends on your unique situation. Some clients begin with weekly sessions, while others come bi-weekly or monthly depending on goals, symptom severity, and scheduling needs. We’ll decide together what pace is best for your progress.

05. Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes, I do offer secure telehealth sessions when needed. However, I believe in-person therapy provides the richest experience and often leads to a deeper therapeutic connection. Telehealth can be a convenient alternative once we’ve built rapport or when circumstances make coming into the office difficult.

06. What can I expect in the first session?

Your first session is all about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you in, explore your goals, and start building a sense of comfort and trust. You don’t need to have all the answers — just come as you are. This is a space where you can begin to feel heard, supported, and understood.

THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

Why “Monday?”

Mondays mark the start of something new — a fresh page, a renewed mindset, and the chance to begin again. That’s what therapy can be, too.

At Monday Counseling, we believe in new beginnings. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, working through something painful, or simply ready for change, this is your space to reset and move forward — one step at a time.

Because healing doesn’t have to wait for the perfect moment. Sometimes, it just starts with a Monday.
